The Arbeitskreis Asyl Kernen is an initiative of the two Protestant Churches of the city of Kernen which was originally founded of the Protestant Church of Stetten. Our aim is not at all the proselytisation of refugees. As citizen with a common interest we joint to welcome the refugees in Kernen and to support them. We are not a club and have no membership or pay any fee. We are open to all who are interested in joining us.

Open lunch for all:
Every Thursday from 12.30 to 2 pm in the Friedenskirche of the Protestant-Methodist Church, Kurze Straße 9, Rommelshausen.
Lunch is served for a very little prize of 2,- €.
This is an ecumenical project of the following churches:
Protestant Church, Protestant-Methodist Church Catholic Church, Landeskirchlichen Gemeinschaft and Erlacher Höhe.
Deutschkurse - German language courses:
Finding work without the ability of speaking German is very difficult. And also to get along in Germann society speaking German is necessary. That is why we want to help you learning German and offer you this language course, which costs 10,-€.
If you want to take part, you can write a mail to our organizer, who will find a convient course for you.
After having reached a basic knowledge and having regulary taken part in our courses we can help you to find a regular course in Waiblingen.

Begegnungscafé - Encounter-Café:
Over coffee, tea and baked goods, refugees and citizens have the opportunity to meet one another, enjoy interesting conversations or simply have fun together playing table soccer or table tennis.

Tanzworkshop - Dance Workshop:
Three hours long, every Wednesday, refugees and German citizens meet together for music and dance. The workshop is led by Grégory Darcy, whose aim it is to bring people of varying cultures into contact with one another. Music and movement make it possible to simply have fun together despite all language barriers. All who participate are invited to bring traditional dances from their own culture into the group. Eventually these various dances will be woven into a single choreography.
